Easy now...!!
Sir Alex Ferguson has told Wayne Rooney he needs to be careful as he tries to recover and play in the World Cup.

The Manchester United striker will definitely miss England's group stage games - after a scan revealed he cannot train for at least another three weeks.

Manchester United boss Ferguson said: "Wayne has to look after himself by ensuring he is getting the proper rest.

"He must wear his orthopaedic boot at the right time, especially in training. Wayne's young, he doesn't feel pain."

Rooney requires another scan on 14 June to determine when he can return to action.

If the striker's broken metatarsal is given the all-clear, he would have 10 days to get fit for a last-16 tie.

England have to decide by 9 June whether to replace Rooney in the squad.

Ferguson added: "This is a dangerous area because the scan quite clearly shows the fracture is not healed."

Rooney suffered the injury in a Premiership game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 29 April.
