England
Stop moaning and get behind England
Am I the only person in England that is fed up to the back teeth of people moaning about the England performances?
So much negativity is simply baffling. Yes, of course England haven’t performed as we know they can but, at the end of the day they’re in the last eight.
They’ve kept three clean sheets in their four matches. And apart from a couple of mistakes against the Swedes they’ve looked solid at the back.
Against the Ecuadorians, we actually won the game in ‘the second half!’
Wayne Rooney has now got 90 minutes under his belt. The Portuguese have key players missing for the game on Saturday, notably Deco – and possibly Figo.
We’ve won through to the quarter finals without playing that well, and as any football fan will tell you, if you’re not playing at your best but still winning, it’s a sign of a very good team.
England will improve but, to be honest I couldn’t give a monkeys if we’re shocking but carry on winning 1-0.
Somebody on the radio recently said that if England win the World Cup and don’t improve on their performances it will be embarrassing – what rubbish!
How long have we waited for a real genuine chance of bringing that cup home?
Forty long suffering years. Far too long, so how we do it really doesn’t matter. In an ideal world it would be lovely to really turn it on and put three or four past opponents in every game but, an ideal world doesn’t exist.
So the message for all these people moaning and groaning about England is either start watching the tennis and you can moan about Messrs Rusedski, Henman and Murray or get behind England and think positive. We CAN win this World Cup – there is no doubt about that. And we will.
Oh, and one more positive omen to finish off with. Nadal is one of the favourites to take Roger Federer’s Wimbledon crown on July 9. The last time a Spaniard won Wimbledon was guess when? Yep, 1966!
