Liverpool get permisson for new stadium
Liverpool set to move out of Anfield, providing they can get the cash

Liverpool Council have given Liverpool permission to build a new 60,000 seater stadium in Stanley Park, just a stone's throw away from Anfield.

Now the team have until the end of September to convince the council that they can find the cash.

"It's all systems go. All we need now is the club to confirm the funding," said council leader Warren Bradley.

If they can find the money then work can start on the project in January 2007. And the money they are talking about is £215m.

Liverpool Manager Rafaeil Benitez welcomed the announcement; "It's very good news and it's important for us to have a stadium with a lot of possibilities for our supporters," enthused Liverpool manager Benitez.

"We have the best supporters in the world and if we can have 60,000 of them in for every game at Anfield it would be better."
