Inverness CT 1-1 Celtic
A point gained or two points lost?

Inverness had a dream start in this hard faught contest, taking the lead inside the 60 seconds when Craig Dargo found the net with a good strike, from a tight angle.

Shaun Maloney fluffed a close-range chance before John Hartson made it honors even on 22 minutes with a fierce shot.

Dargo saw his first-half penalty saved by Artur Boruc and both goalkeepers made excellent stops in the second half to ensure a share of the points.

Inverness caught the visitors napping by snatching the lead after only 31 seconds.

Craig Brewster flicked on Ross Tokely's throw and Dargo was allowed to turn and shoot for his seventh goal of the campaign.

Celtic were unsettled in defence and Stephen McManus was booked for hauling down Dargo as the striker charged towards goal.

Dargo almost cost his side with a dreadful backpass in the 10th minute and he needed goalkeeper Mark Brown to be alert to clear the danger, with Shaun Maloney ready to pounce.

After a shaky start Celtic gradually found their feet and Hartson saw his low shot well saved by Brown before Shaun Maloney missed a golden chance.

Hartson played the ball into the path of his strike partner but the youngster miss-hit his shot from five yards, which allowed Brown to make the block.

However, Celtic were on level terms a few minutes later when Ross Wallace skipped past an opponent and delivered a great cross that Hartson controlled on his chest before finding the net on the half-volley.

Inverness were awarded a penalty on the half hour when Dargo tumbled after being clipped by McManus.

Inexplicably, referee Stuart Dougal failed to produce a second yellow for the defender and, to make matters worse for the home side, Boruc saved Dargo's poor spot-kick.

Celtic survived two more penalty appeals before half-time, with Petrov shoving Brewster and then handling the ball just outside the area.

The second half was a cagey affair until an explosive final 15 minutes that led to both sides creating several good opportunities to win the game.

Brewster's blistering free-kick was well saved by Boruc and Inverness team-mate Russell Duncan volleyed wildly over the bar from a great position.

For Celtic, Shunsuke Nakamura shot wide before Maloney and Petrov both saw cracking strikes beaten away by home keeper Brown.
