Leamington 3 Tipton Town 0 Sunday 29 Jan 2006
Leamington 3 Tipton Town 0
A hat-trick from hot shot striker Richard Adams saw Leamington record their first home win in the league since September.

The visitors preparations were hampered before kick off as striker Marcus Brown collapsed in the warm up and was rushed to hospital, thankfully the striker is now back home but the incident clearly affected the Tipton players.

First chance of the game and The Brakes were in front, a simple through ball from midfield set Adams away and the striker skipped round Wes Cox before coolly slotting the ball into the corner.

The second goal and one that sealed the game can only be described as bizarre, a long ball from defence made found its way to Adams and despite the striker been a good 3 yards offside the referee’s assistant failed to raise his flag ( Two reasons as to why he didn’t. 1. He’s grossly incompetent which was proved throughout the game 2. Failure to keep up with play again proved throughout the game) Adams again ran through and produced another fine finish that was beyond Cox.

Tipton’s best effort of the half was Lee Rollason’s shot on the turn which was comfortably saved by Richard Morris.

The first 15 minutes of the second half produced Tipton’s best spell of the game, Danny Coates was denied a clear penalty by the ‘officials’ after a push in the back, the move of the game saw Tipton hit the inside of the post, a delightful one-two between Brett Love and Ravi Sangha, the latter fired a ball across goal which was met by Hardip Dhanda, and with Morris beaten the ball bounced back off the inside of the post and away to safety.

Rich Adams and Leamington ‘s third came on 65 minutes, the striker was given the ball on the edge of the box, his clever turn gave him half a yard before striking an unstoppable effort into the far corner.

The home side played out the remainder of the game with some comfort, substitute Jon Adams looked to emulate his brother with a thunderous 25 yard drive which cannoned back off the crossbar.

Overall 3-0 was slightly flattering to the home side but nobody can deny the clinical finishing of man of the match Richard Adams.
