Manchester United 4 Fulham 2 Sunday 5 Feb 2006
Manchester United 4 Fulham 2
Fulham haven't won away from home this season and the trip to Old Trafford wasn't any different

Manchester United were off the blocks quickly with a shot from Ji-Sung Park on 6 minutes that deflected off Carlos Bocanegra and into the back of the net.

And just 8 minutes later they scored again. A foul on Louis Saha gave Man Utd a free kick 20 yards out. Taken by Cristian Ronaldo, Antti Niemi had no chance.

Fulham were in battling form and on 22 minutes they managed to pull one back. A cross from Liam Rosenior was met by Brian McBride who headed home for Fulham's first.

But just a minute later Man Utd scored a controversial third. Ruud van Nistelrooy was clearly offside as his shot was saved, but Saha was their for the rebound which he easily scored from.

Fulham were mad, especially Chris Coleman who ended up being sent from the dug out due to his anger.

This spurred Fulham on and on 37 minutes a cross from Wayne Bridge to the far post fell for Heidar Helguson to head past Van der Sar.

In the second half Sir Alex Ferguson brought on Wayne Rooney to help keep them ahead against a Fulham side pushing hard for the equaliser.

With just 5 minutes left Niema produced an amazing save from Van Nistelrooy, but Ronaldo was there to pick up the rebound and give Man Utd their fourth.

After the match Sir Alex said "I think the sensible opinion is that Chelsea have got the title as long as they don't throw it away. Things can happen. It happened to us once. But they are consistent. They would really need to make catastrophic mistakes to lose this league but you never know."
