Harrow Academicals 2-3 E-Pulse
Bangkok Premier League officials are to investigate the first half footage after claims of goalkeeper fowl play………

The Accies took on epulse in confident mood buoyed by two successive triumphs and the return of towering defender John Corry after a week’s intensive treatment on his injured leg in several of Bangkok’s most exclusive massage parlours. In the first half, though, the Accies failed to translate that confidence in to a decent display.

Their much younger and quicker opponents played long ball after long ball in to the mixer and unsettled the Harrow back line. Conceding two goals, the only highlight in the first half was chopper Carter’s expert felling of a particularly nippy epulse winger. Comprehensively beaten for pace, D.C. stretched out, inspector-gadget like, a long leg and brought down his adversary.

As a result Dan is now joint leader of the Accies’ yellow card league table - a far more prestigious affair then the overrated Bangkok Premier league – with two cautions along with Miles and Warren.

Lifted by a half time team talk packed full of cliches from manager Gordon, the Accies put in a far better performance in the second half.

Bird was nowhere near as busy between the sticks and Laslett and Haughton were having far more joy on the flanks. The highlights of the half, though, were the two goals the Accies managed to score.

After a drought of Old Testament proportions, veteran striker Darren Wise repaid the manager’s blind faith with a superbly redirected flick from Ashley’s header off Dan Laslett’s well taken corner.

Right at the end, and proving that he is still not ready for the glue factory, aging war-horse Steve Beer also managed to direct his header past the hapless epulse goalie.

Straight after, the whistle blew for full time and epulse had managed to hold on for what was, in the end, a narrow victory.

By the end, it was the pacy Thai lads who were pleased to hear the ref blow for full time, something that should give the Accies confidence for the battles ahead.
