Gateshead & District Sunday League Division 2
Thomas Wilson 2 - 1 Kibblesworth
The Thomas Wilson kept up their push for promotion with a hard fought win against lowly Kibblesworth. In a game the Wilson dominated, chances were few and far between and it took half an hour before Brett Hogan broke down the left and crossed to Lee Rumney who had an easy tap in.
Tony Hindmarch came close with a header and Dave Dixon should have done better with a chance, before Kibblesworth equalised despite calls for offside from the home team.
Barry Hindmarch, playing his last game before retirement led the line well, but again the Wilson couldn't turn their territorial advantage into goals. Once again though it was the Hogan - Rumney combination that made the break through, Rumney volleying in at the back post from a deep Hogan cross. Despite the pressure there were no more goals, although hindmarch came close with a free kick in the dying minutes. It's now all down to the last game with Corporation Club and Thomas Wilson tied on points in second place.
