Good Win, Shaky Performance!

The Thomas Wilson hit the goal trail against the Shakespeare, but in the end it was a slightly flattering score-line. It took 20 minutes for the deadlock to be broken when Marcel McPhee's through ball was neatly despatched by skipper Steve Coates. The Shaky then put the ball in their own net, but luckily a free kick had been given for a push beforehand. On the half hour Bowman and Hogan combined to give Robbie Boyle an easy finish. The game was then won in a ten minute spell in which The Wilson scored four. A corner from Croan bobbled round and in the scramble a Shaky defender put the ball in his own net off the underside of the crossbar, but Neil Bowman pleaded that he had the last touch and should be credited a goal. Boyle was then upended in the box and Brett Hogan buried the penalty, before Mark Croan scored twice in the last minute of the first half, with Coates and Hogan picking up assists.
In the second period The Wilson took their foot off the gas, but might have scored when sub Harrison saw his header hit the base of the post. The Shaky picked up a consolation when a quick free kick caught out the opposition and the young striker easily rounded Hanvey to score. With 15 minutes remaining Hogan scored his second of the game to make it 7-1, and in the dying minutes Boyle's cross into the box saw Irish starlet Steve Gray challenge the keeper and the ball crossed the line for a dubious goal to complete the scoring.
